Praise be to Allaah.

• Firstly:
Valentine’s Day is a jaahili Roman festival, which continued to be celebrated until after the Romans became Christian. This festival became connected with the saint known as Valentine who was sentenced to death on 14 February 270 CE. Fatawa: How to Introduce Islam to Non-Muslims

• Question:

As-Salaamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatu. I was asked to talk to non-Muslims about the Holy Qur`an by introducing it to them, without engaging myself in debates or arguments (i.e. preaching), as a form of Da`wah given by educated Muslims in a non-Islamic environment. Please supply me with some advice that can help me to do so in the best way, Insha`Allah, with specific points on talking about the Holy Qur`an. Time is limited to 40 minutes followed by Q&A and it is an open invitation, i.e., not limited to a specific group.

I am supposed to practice the talk within our Muslim group first and for a few times before presenting it to non-Muslims. Also, the Imam (who is well qualified in religion) of our mosque will be present to correct any mistakes and to answer specialized questions during the presentation. Your help is very much appreciated. Jazakum Allah khairan. As-Salaamu `Alaykum.
